The Transform Africa Zimbabwe Summit roars into life in Victoria Falls

The Minister of ICT, Postal and Courier Services, Jenfan Muswere has confirmed that the country’s preparations to host the Transform Africa Zimbabwe Summit (TAZS) were now at an advanced stage.

Speaking to the media after inspecting the TAZS venue in Victoria Falls yesterday, Minister Muswere said, “As I indicated in our last press conference, relating to Zimbabwe’s hosting of the 2023 Transform Africa Summit, preparations are at an advanced stage as you have come to realize.”

According to the Minister, close to 3 000 delegates from over 100 countries are expected to attend the summit whose focus would be on digital transformation of the African continent.

“The Transform Africa Summit is a conference that we are hosting in Zimbabwe for the first time from the 26th to the 28th of April 2023 and it will bring in 6 to 10 heads of state from across Africa, over 40 Ministers and other captains of industries, innovators across the globe.” said Minister Muswere.

Minister Muswere also said that hosting this Summit in Zimbabwe would attract new investors, which aligns with the Second Republic’s mantra of engagement and re-engagement.

“Zimbabwe is set to fully exploit the high-level summit by showcasing its investment opportunities in order to attract new investments,” said the Minister.

The summit is Africa’s leading annual forum bringing together global and regional leaders as well as digital experts to collaborate on new ways of shaping, accelerating and sustaining Africa’s on-going digital revolution.

Topics to be tackled range from Building Resilient Digital Ecosystem in Africa through Sustainable Investment, Innovative Financing for the Single Digital Market and Foreign Investment for Digital Ecosystem of Africa, Co-operation and Best practices.

Meanwhile, the summit would run under the theme: “Connect, Innovate, and Transform” and is expected to underline the commitment of African Governments towards accelerating Africa’s digital agenda.
