The ZANU PF Umzingwane National Assembly member, Levy Mayihlome, encouraged unity among leaders in Matabeleland region warning them that the descendants to come would attack them for failing to work together in unity.

Addressing a gathering of stakeholders at the Bulawayo-Old Gwanda Road construction project this weekend, Mayihlome highlighted that all the political parties must unite and work together in building the nation despite their different opinions.

“All minorities in the world are always the best but why is it that as a minority, we are always the worst? What is it about us that we cannot do anything together? Few as we are, most of the times we are known for squabbles, we are known for pointing fingers at each other,

“If you are in a different political party, others do not even greet you and the only thing that you get is being labeled. Let the future generations learn from us as leaders the importance of being united and having a shared vision,” said Mayihlome.

Mayihlome indicated that the political leaders must leave a legacy to the youths and that they should not expect other provinces to teach them to improve themselves.

“What I have been saying and what I need to say is that we need to leave a footprint. We have lived all this time but is there quality in what we have done? If we expect people to come from the other parts of the country to develop this region, we are not serious,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mayihlome affirmed that people should always be patriotic and know that the nation`s development should be championed by its own people as propounded by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
