CCC candidate uses command farming inputs to fund her campaign

A Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) aspiring candidate for Mbare, Tsitsi Chimanikire is allegedly using inputs from the command farming to finance her campaign bid, the Harare Post has learnt.

Chimanikire nee Chikwanda, is an ex-wife to former MDC T legislator for Southerton, Gift Chimanikire. She divorced her husband of 27 years claiming that the marriage had irretrievably broken down.

An impeccable source revealed to this publication that Chimanikire accessed the command farming inputs through her boyfriend, a senior officer in the army.

“She is getting the resources using the relationship she now has with an army boss. The electorate in Mbare are now aware of this unequal yoking and they have vowed to reject her. However, she might sail through since she has been giving the president (Nelson Chamisa) 2000 litres of diesel,” said the source.

The source went on to reveal that the CCC leadership in the province once summoned her to explain her relationship with the army boss. He said Chimanikire even drove a vehicle that he suspected belonged to Government because she does not pay at tollgates.

“I once travelled with her to Masvingo, the vehicle that she drives is exempted from paying toll fees. She just shows them a card. We are now not sure if she was not planted in the party by the military to spy on us. It becomes scarier with the position that she aspires to occupy. How can an army boss have a relationship with a high profile member of the opposition? We have been infiltrated by the military through Mai Chikwanda ava,”said the source.

The source added: “She is not the only one having an unholy alliance with ZANU PF. There is also Muzira in the constituency. He is also an aspiring candidate. He moved from Wedza to avoid contesting his benefactor, (Tinomudaishe) Machakaire.  Muzira owns a garage where he services mostly cars belonging to government, Zanu PF and some G40 members. He moves around in the constituency driving luxury vehicles belonging to our enemies. Last week we had to check one of the vehicles with the CVR (Central Vehicle Registry), and we discovered it belongs to one of the G40 kingpins.”

The government introduced command agriculture as way of improving agricultural production following the land reform programme. However, the initiative has been facing challenges among them is the dishonesty of beneficiaries who divert resources availed by government to advance other causes.
