Members of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) were irked by the absence of that party's leadership at the Bindura Civil Court yesterday.

CCC members who spoke to this publication said that the party's leadership should learn to lead from the front instead of waiting for citizens to clear the path for them.

The CCC members were disappointed that the party's leadership, including party president, Nelson Chamisa, were not present at the court to support them. They accused the leadership of being cowards who were afraid to face the authorities.

"Where is our leadership?" asked one CCC member. "They are always quick to send us to the frontlines, but they are never there to support us when we need them the most,” said one CCC member.

Another CCC member said that the party's leadership should learn to lead from the front.

"They should not be afraid to stand up for what they believe in. We are tired of being led by cowards," said one Memory Muchenje.

The CCC members also accused that party's spokesperson, Fadzayi Mahere, and her deputy, Gift Siziba, of not attending court cases. They said that by not attending CCC court cases; these two would not be able to effectively defend the party's position.

"Mahere and Siziba should have attended the court session. They are the mouthpieces of the party. How will they speak on behalf of the party when they are not attending important court cases like this one?" complained CCC members.

One Gilbert Kamurai said that it was insulting for the CCC leadership to send Takudzwa Ngadziore to represent it in Bindura.

"They are now sending students like Ngadziore to represent them. It's an insult to us. Our leaders should know that we are dealing with national politics, not student politics," said Kamurai.

Meanwhile, the venue that was chosen by CCC to hold their rally is a bushy area near the Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University. The place had no access roads, water, or ablution facilities.
