CCC-led Bindura Town Council snubs CCC Rally

The cash strapped Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC)’s habit of corruptly taking advantage of its urban councils hit a brick-wall this past weekend as the Bindura Town Council would have none of it.

Posting on his twitter handle, former Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Professor Jonathan Moyo exposed the real reason behind the CCC noise over their venue this weekend.

Prof Moyo disclosed that the CCC-led Bindura Town Council and the CCC were the ones at the centre of the venue fiasco due to the cancellation of the initial venue.

In an effort to shield itself from corruptly awarding the Chipadze Stadium to CCC party without any payments made, the Bindura Town Council wrote a letter addressed to one Susan Mawire.

“We regret to advise that the Chipadze Stadium is currently under renovations, as such we are not able to hire it out for any use,” read part of the letter.

Moyo argues that if CCC did not treat the unavailability of Chipadze stadium by their own as a ban, it should then be obvious that no authority would allow thousands upon thousands to gather at a site that does not have proper ablution facilities, running water and access roads.

“If the convener (Susan Mawire) did not treat the unavailability of Chipadze Stadium - controlled by members of her political party organizing the rally - as a ban of the rally, and if she was willing, as she indeed was to find an alternative venue (Brockdale Pfugari Open Space) which unlike Chipadze Stadium has no requisite amenities like water and ablution facilities, why is asking her to find an alternative proper venue with requisite facilities being treated as a ban of the rally,” queried Moyo.

Political Commentator Terrence Chipwanya blamed CCC for its flopped campaign launch rally, as it was ill-financed to support the program.

“That party is in financial doldrums, it sent out messages to all its election candidates ordering them to mobilize money for the Bindura campaign launch rally.

“However, most of its candidates snubbed the call, preferring to focus on financing their campaigns.  The weekend flop is on CCC and they should stop the blame game, it’s still too early in the election for mud-slinging,” said Chipwanya.

Nelson Chamisa and his CCC party have been on a poor and bad start for the Harmonised General Election campaigns as compared to its opponent ZANU PF which is now full throttle in campaign mode.  This has been credited to the organized and democratic processes by the latter against the undemocratic and impositions of the former.
