Chamisa micro-managing CCC rally preps

Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader, Nelson Chamisa has been accused of interfering with that party’s rally preparations as he has developed paranoia over his party leadership, the Harare Post can report.

A source within the CCC Movement Mobilisation Department revealed that Chamisa had lost trust with most of his lieutenants, as he suspects that some are working against him with Tendai Biti of the Maruva cabal.

“Lately the president (Chamisa) had developed mistrust against his remaining lieutenants. He believes most of them are working with Biti to either unseat him or cause harm to his person.

“He has taken to micromanaging all preparations for rural rallies preferring to choose rural venues himself.  At one point he lambasted Amos Chibaya who is our party Movement Mobiliser for choosing a rural venue that was more than 40km from the main road. He insisted that all his rural rallies be held along the main road and not deep in the rural settlements,” said the source that declined identification.

According to the same source, Chamisa pays an ear to the younger leaders in CCC such as his spokesperson, Fadzai Mahere and his deputy, Gift Siziba and not to the old guard which he suspects of plotting something sinister against him.

Mamwe maleaders aveku complainer nemashandiro emkuru zvekuti havachanyanyoyisa simba muzvirongwa zveparty. Varikuti ngayite nema youths ake iwayo. (Our leader has frustrated the old guard to a point where they are no longer putting effort in their work for the party, they insist that he should work with his youthful leaders instead.),” said the source.

Meanwhile, Welshman Ncube, Thokozani Khupe, Thabitha Khumalo, Tendai Biti, and Job Sikhala have been cast by the wayside as Chamisa’s advisors and confidants as he continues to purge the old guard in order to silence dissent while consolidating his power by appointing young blood to positions of influence.
