… as it produces an empty manifesto days before D-day

Citizens from across the country have castigated the recently launched Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) manifesto titled ‘A new great Zimbabwe for everyone’, labelling it a high sounding nothing document that has done nothing, but regurgitate Zanu PF ideas, the Harare Post can report.

Speaking to this publication on the side-lines of the CCC Manifesto launch in Bulawayo, Dumisani Bhebhe, a resident of Nketa 9 in Bulawayo said the manifesto lacked originality.

“CCC is seriously out of touch with reality, most of the promises in the manifesto are projects that Zanu PF is already implementing. How can they promise people Title Deeds that Zanu PF has already started giving out?

“One of the manifesto promises is to establish an office of the opposition leader, something that is already in existence and something that he ignorantly snubbed for lack of knowledge coupled with political immaturity,” Banda said.

Meanwhile, political analyst, Chido Matamba said the release of the CCC manifesto 14 days before Election Day is an indication that CCC leader, Nelson Chamisa is massively being hand-held by his handlers.

“The publishing of a manifesto by CCC with only 14 days to the Election Day is testament to the fact that, that party has given in to the pressure from its handlers to produce same. Worth noting is that most of the ideas in the manifesto are already being implemented by the Second Republic. The late publishing of the manifesto is also a sign of poor coordination and lack of robust planning by that party,” said Matamba.

The estranged CCC handlers have withheld their financial support claiming lack of structures, ideology, constitution and undemocratic practices exhibited by Chamisa.  They have pushed for CCC to make clear its intentions and future prospects leading to this ill-thought out document. Meanwhile, journalist Hopewell Chin’ono and Dr Nkosana Moyo have vowed never to vote for Chamisa because he is not presidential material.
