The old adage that say ‘numbers don’t lie’ comes true in the case of Zanu PF, where political analysts have predicted an emphatic victory for President Emmerson Mnangagwa based on the crowds that have been gracing his star rallies across the country, the Harare Post will report.

Speaking to this publication, political analyst, Marvis Chireya, opined that the election was already decided and it was obvious who was winning, adding that people have shifted from election fever to focusing on President Mnangagwa’s first 100 days in Office after the 23 August 2023 Harmonised General Elections.

“The election is decided, the people are speaking through their high turnout at President Mnangagwa’s star rallies, compare to those by Citizen Coalition for Change (CCC) leader, Nelson Chamisa’s star rallies, it is obvious that President Mnangagwa has bagged this election.

“As political analysts we are no longer focused on the election per se, because the numbers don’t lie, victory is certain for Zanu PF.  What we are now focused on is President Mnangagwa’s first 100 days in Office, his priorities and the resumption of his infrastructural development projects,” said Chireya.

Economic analyst, Abednigo Matsika reiterated that President Mnangagwa had done so much progress with the first 100 days since his inauguration in 2018.

“President Mnangagwa’s 2018 first 100 days in office were a success, as he managed to cut down unnecessary Government expenditure, including luxuries enjoyed by high ranking public officials. He opened up Zimbabwe for business and managed to secure US$3billion worth of investment, as well as push the engagement and re-engagement drive.

“The numbers that continue to fill up President Mnangagwa’s star rallies are testimony that people have seen the good work that he has done and would like to see a continuation of the same.  People are in agreement that only President Mnangagwa can continue from where he left off for the country to achieve its Vision 2030 of an Upper Middle Income Economy,” said Matsika.

When President Mnangagwa assumed office in 2018, he swore to institute robust transformation to the economy, infrastructure and the way of doing business in Government and he has walked the talk, as well as go beyond what he had promised.
