CCC sending false information to the EU observer mission

The Citizen Coalition for Change (CCC) is feeding false information to the European Union Election Observer Mission (EU-EOM) and the Carter Centre about violence and intimidation allegedly being perpetrated by Zanu PF Party members on its activists.

A CCC official boasted to this reporter that CCC party has an information centre that it is using to make calls to EU-EOM officials who include Merle Pormeister making false reports designed to cause the EU-EOM to condemn the election.

’’There is an information centre that has been created by the CCC leadership for purposes of discrediting the election. They are using this centre to channel out false information about fake violence and intimidation by members of the Zanu PF party on citizens they suspect to be of the opposition.

’’They hope that the EU-EOM which has reputation of being hostile to ZANU PF, will swallow the lies hook, sink and liner’’.

Political analyst, Terrence Chipwanya took a swipe at the CCC for seeking to mislead the EU-EOM.

’’The EU-EOM should not allow itself to be used by the CCC party, but should verify all information that they receive, unless of course they are aiding the CCC in order to advance their regime change agenda.

’’The political field for the 23 August elections has been the most peaceful and fair pre-election period since twenty years ago. President Emmerson Mnangagwa is on record urging people to shun violence and calling for tolerance, peace and unity,’’ said Chapwanya

Meanwhile, the country has invited 46 countries and 17 international organisations, among them; African Bodies, all 15 Southern African Development Community (SADC) member States, International Organisations, countries with formalised diplomatic relations and other countries in Europe, Caribbean countries, Asian countries and Liberation Movements. These countries and organisations will tell the true stories about the real situation on the ground, pre, during and post 23 August Harmonised General elections.
