The Ministry of Health and Child Care has received a short in the arm following the appointment of Dr John Chamunorwa Mangwiro as the ministry`s new Deputy Minister today.

Dr Mangwiro will be a special asset to the Ministry as he possesses vast experience in physio, diabetes and other related medical areas.

Dr Mangwiro is the current President of the Zimbabwe Diabetic Association, a specialist physician and diabetes specialist. He has worked in the health sector for quite some time and has acquired vast experience in the sector. It is fortunate that he has been chosen at a trying time when the country is experiencing an outbreak of Cholera and the public is expecting him to show his expertise by bringing fruitful ideas to combat the disease.

Dr Mangwiro will be deputising Dr Obadiah Moyo who was appointed last Friday. No doubt the duo will transform the health sector into one of the best in the southern region.

The Ministry was once in the hands of Dr David Parirenyatwa for so many years.

Dr Mangwiro has no time to play but to deliver as he comes at a time the health sector is in dire need of health professionals who can deliver. After his appointment, Dr Mangwiro urged the political elites to use local facilities to unlock the potential in the health sector.

On political circles, Dr Mangwiro is a House of Assembly member for Chikomba West constituency who won resoundingly with 17 079 votes during the 2018 harmonised elections under Zanu PF ticket. Chikomba West constituency has already expressed confidence in Dr Mangwiro, hence the need for the rest of Zimbabweans to support him and improve the health sector.
