Chitungwiza residents have expressed their gratitude to the Government for deploying riot police to patrol their neighborhoods, reinforcing security and ensuring peace in the area.

Following recent concerns over potential unrest, authorities have taken proactive steps to maintain law and order by increasing police presence in residential areas. This initiative has been met with widespread approval, as residents feel reassured about their safety.

Esther Moyo, a local resident, commended the Government’s efforts, stating that the presence of law enforcement officers has brought a sense of calm to the community.

“We are grateful to the authorities for prioritizing our security. The increased police patrols have discouraged criminal activities and reassured us that we are safe in our own homes,” she said.

Another resident, Tendai Ncube, echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing that stability is crucial for the well-being of families and businesses.

“There were fears of disturbances, but thanks to the Government’s swift action, we can go about our daily activities without worry. The presence of the police is a deterrent to any potential troublemakers,” Ncube noted.

Authorities have reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace and stability across the country.

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Services, Nick Mangwana, confirmed on X that law enforcement agencies would continue working to prevent any incidents that may threaten public order.

“Our duty is to ensure that every citizen feels safe in their home and community. The Government will not allow any form of lawlessness to take root, and we will take all necessary measures to protect the people,” Mangwana said.

The increased security measures come amid rising concerns about potential protests and disturbances. While some political activists have called for demonstrations, many citizens in Chitungwiza have made it clear that they prioritize stability and development over disruptive activities.
