ED pledges support to Vadzidzi VaJesu church

Speaking at the Johane Masowe Vadzidzi VaJesu Annual Convention at Goora, near Mt Darwin yesterday, the President said that the church was not only for prayers but also for initiating developmental projects.

“The development that I have seen here shows that you have a bright future. I pledge to support you with everything you need. The church is not only for prayers but also to build the country. What you are doing here is in line with the vision of the late (leader of the church) Mudzidzi Wimbo. He always spoke for the people, lifting them from poverty,” said the President.

President Mnangagwa assured the Church that its request for a farm would be considered and he pledged to support the church with farming equipment.

“I have heard that you have always wanted a farm. I will make sure that you get it. We are always with you and we will supply you with the farming equipment,” added the President.

The President reiterated his developmental philosophy that Zimbabwe can only be built by its citizens as no foreigner will come to do that for its people. He jokingly said that the famous city of Jerusalem was not built by angels but its inhabitants.

President Mnangagwa told the congregants that the role of his Government was to improve the welfare of the people. He added that the Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) would now devote its manpower to building schools and clinics across the country to improve the quality of the people’s lives.

The President added that, despite the lean agricultural season that was experienced last year, no Zimbabwean would die of hunger as Government would provide food to those in need.

“We don’t want any household to go without food. The village heads should take note of those in need of food so that everyone will get food,” said the President.

Speaking at the same occasion, Vadzidzi VaJesu Secretary General, Mudzidzi Shepherd Chingwena said that church will always support the ruling Party and President Mnangagwa. He added that it was prophesied that President Mnangagwa would complete his terms and no one should attempt to take that position from him.

Meanwhile, the President commissioned a clinic that was constructed by the Vadzidzi VaJesu church in Madziwa and pledged to equip the clinic with all requisite equipment and supplies.
