Elective Congress crisis intensifies in CCC

A source, who preferred to remain anonymous, disclosed that the congress, referred to as the "Restoration Congress," is tentatively scheduled for the closing days of November 2023.

It is anticipated that this pivotal gathering would be a battleground with intense power struggles as key positions such the CCC presidency hang in the balance.

"Biti is meticulously laying the groundwork for this congress, aiming to challenge the current status quo within the CCC," revealed the source. "He is not acting alone; he has allied himself with Gift Muguto and Charles Madhiwa, the CCC's interim director for elections, forging a formidable front in this internal power tussle."

The anonymous source went on to disclose that Biti is poised to convene with Sengezo Tshabangu, the CCC's interim secretary general.

"This crucial meeting between Biti and Tshabangu is expected to finalize the congress details and set the stage for what is shaping up to be a seismic event in the CCC history," said the source, emphasizing the gravity of the situation.

In a striking counter-move, Chamisa is reportedly planning his elective congress, designed to oust Biti and his allies from their influential positions within the party. "Chamisa is well aware of the brewing storm, and he is preparing to assert his authority and secure his leadership by convening his own congress," the source stated.

This development underscores the escalating internal strife within the CCC, casting a shadow of uncertainty over the party's future. With factional lines being drawn and loyalties tested, the CCC stands at a crossroads, facing potentially irrevocable changes to its leadership and direction.

As the countdown to the elective congresses begins, the CCC finds itself in uncharted waters, with the stability of the party hanging in the balance. The actions taken in the coming weeks will not only decide the fate of key individuals within that party but also set the trajectory for CCC
