President launches ZNDU

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has today officially launched Zimbabwe National Defence University (ZNDU) and installed Air Vice Marshall Tedzani Moyo as the first substantive Vice Chancellor of the institution at Nikita Mangena Barracks.

Speaking during his address, President Mnangagwa said, “The idea to establish this Zimbabwe National Defence University was noted after the realization of the need for an institution which fills the gap in scope knowledge and coverage of addressing the national strategic achievements.

“Zimbabwe National Defence University is the highest institution of military and security excellence which incept to churn out high performing and professional graduates who will be our pride and assets in the nation, region and beyond.”

President Mnangagwa went on to advise ZNDP Vice Chancellor Moyo to maintain order, efficiency and the good record of the University indicating that it is one of his main duties.

In his acceptance speech, ZNDP Vice Chancellor pledged to maintain high standards at the institution.

President Mnangagwa is on record for encouraging recruitment of technocrats in organisations. He even calls for experts and skilled Zimbabweans in the diaspora to come back to Zimbabwe and demonstrate their expertise in various sectors of the economy so as to build the Zimbabwe we all want.
