Chamisa unwittingly admits his defeat

MDC leader, Nelson Chamisa said that his jecha mantra was meant to stay the inauguration of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, a statement construed by political analysts as an admission that he lost the 2018 presidential election.

Posting on twitter, Chamisa said, “The Jecha thing got so misunderstood by our opposite number. Remember we said it in the context of our concourt challenge to delay President Mnangagwa’s inauguration. Indeed we delayed it.”

Vashe@PTChimusoro said, “This is an admission that you (Chamisa) knew you lost the election. How do you delay an inauguration that you know isn’t coming?”

Kudzai Mutisi, a political analyst and regular twitter user said, “There are people who died because of this evil man’s lies of winning an election. Chamisa went to the Constitutional Court just to delay President Mnangagwa’s inevitable inauguration. He was not there to challenge President Mnangagwa’s clear victory.”

One citizen by the name of Farai Mhakwe posted saying, “This proves that Chamisa’s politics is all about him. Some of us realized who he really was in December 2017.”

Sharing the same Mhakwe’s sentiments, Sir Isaac twitted, “We are still waiting for the proof that shows beyond reasonable doubt that you won. With such irresponsible statements that show you is just a self-centered politician hence your party fielding double candidates.”

Chamisa and his party took president Mnangagwa to the Concourt contesting his victory. The Concourt ruled in favour of President Mnangagwa. However, Chamisa continued to refuse to accept the legitimacy of President Mnangagwa.

He organized violent protests that were meant to overthrow the constitutionally elected government. The army had to intervene after the protestors had extensively destroyed property with human lives being lost in the process.
