Citizens have come out castigating Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Union (ZCTU) over its involvement in politics which led to the ouster of Zimbabwe Teachers Association (Zimta) from the labour union.

Garry Moffat has tweeted saying that ZCTU should desist from involving themselves in politics.

“Stop involving yourselves in politics ZCTU now you are like a political party not representing workers as you are supposed to do. Stop this madness.

“If they are concerned about workers, they must tell Ngoromani to get sanctions removed but they are against the government that is trying to make our economy work for the good of citizens,” he said.

Kudzai Mutisi also tweeted castigating ZCTU and its political involvement and said they will not do anything useful.

“ZCTU is now an MDC branch, just like the MDC. They won’t ever do anything useful for workers. Folks like Peter Mutasa think that shut downs benefit workers, what a bunch of dumb heads.”

In January ZCTU led a massive demonstration which led to the death of several people. ZCTU is no longer a labour body but a political party using workers funds to promote opposition interests.
