Zanu PF Makoni District held a reception party for former Zanu PF Secretary for Administration Didymus Mutasa who was re-admitted into the party in October 2018.

The reception was held at his residence in ward 10 (Silverbow), of Makoni Central constituency on 18 May 2019.

Speaking at the ceremony, the former Politburo Member, Didymus Mutasa said it had been long since he last received attention from Zanu PF members following his ouster by Robert Gabriel Mugabe. He then gave a brief background of his ouster, when he was expelled in 2011.

The Manicaland Guru claimed that Mugabe wanted to impose his wife Grace Mugabe to lead the country and he resisted. Mutasa alleged that the move to bring Grace Mugabe into leadership resulted in the emergence of the G40 cabal in addition to the already existing functions Gamatox and Lacoste.

Mutasa, thanked President Emmerson Mnangagwa for re-admitting him into the party. He highlighted that he is a card carrying member and that he is starting from the cell structures. He however said that he was willing to rise through the ranks to repossess his lost glory.

He highlighted that though he was just a card carrying member he was willing to advice Makoni District leadership.

“Although I am just a card carrying member and cell member, I am willing to advice Makoni District leadership on party issues,” he said.

Mutasa went on to say that President Mnangagwa would complete his term without anyone revolting against him. He also said that he would conduct party districts visits in Headlands Constituency to reunite with his former support base. He said he would however seek blessings from Makoni District leadership first, since he was a former Member of Parliament for Makoni.

Upon his return to Zanu PF, Mutasa was also appointed advisor at the Chitepo School of Ideolgy which hailed the revolutionary party for establishing and said it was an essential institution for mentoring party members.
