ZANU-PF Deputy Secretary for Youth Affairs, Cde Lewis Matutu told youth associations affiliated to Zanu PF to stand firm on naming and shaming corrupt officials both in the party and Government.

Speaking at the Zanu-PF Headquarters yesterday, Matutu said the youth league was not going to relent or tone down on corruption.

Mathutu reiterated that calls by some members of the ruling party members who are attacking him after he called for the investigations and arrest of suspected corrupt people surrounding President Emmerson Mnangagwa are going to fail.

"Since l started firmly denouncing corruption, some Cdes in the revolution have come guns blazing against my personality. However, l will not stop until the root which has besieged this nation is over," said Matutu.

He said those benefiting from corruption should brace up for a show from the youths.

"As youth associations, you are the ambassadors of President Mnangagwa, so will do everything within our means to stop the scourge of corruption,"

He said the youths were just fulfilling one of the election promises the President has always said during his campaign rallies that corruption should nipped in the bud.

He revealed that next week, he was going to call for another press conference to have a second round of naming and shaming another group of corrupt officials.

"As you know, we continue to receive calls from progressive members who are giving evidence of corrupt officials, so the list is growing," said Mathutu.

"As the Vanguard of the party, the Youth League cannot leave President Mnangagwa alone to fight cartels in the economy," said Matutu.

He said there was power in numbers that is why the League is engaging progressive youth associations.

"I urge youth associations to join in the fight against corruption," said Tendai Chirau, Secretary for Administration in the Youth League.

He urged youths to be mirror of the President.

National Political Commissar in the Youth League, Godfrey Tsenengamu urged the youths to be guided by the Party Constitution.

“I am going to repeat what l said last time, all youths above 35 should relinquish power and pave leadership to those who fall into the category," said Tsenengamu.

He dismissed that the Youth League is pushing for the age of youth to 40.

“I am soon going to be in the Main Wing of the party," said Tsenengamu.

He urged those occupying positions in various youth associations to be guided accordingly and pave the way for others.

Meanwhile, yesterday Cde Mabel Chinomona said the Women League is fully behind the Youth League in condoning corruption.

This comes after Zanu-PF National Political Commissar; Cde Victor Matemadanda added their voice saying they are fully behind the Youth League in fighting corruption.
