Government through the Ministry of Health and Child Care has dismissed as fake, a message circulating on social media of Rusape General Hospital allegedly doing its laundry in Rusape River.

The Ministry has since posted on their Facebook page dismissing the allegations.

“The Ministry has noted with concern a message circulating on social media platforms claiming that laundry from Rusape General Hospital was being done in Rusape River.

“Following inquiries with Ministry officials on the ground the Ministry can confirm that the message is fake and would like to hereby advice members of the public accordingly,” reads the statement.

Speaking to this publication, an official in the Ministry also confirmed that the message is fake and that things at the hospital are fine. The official revealed that the country may be facing financial challenges but the Hospital is managing and it has running tape water.

He said that the circulating picture could have been taken from anywhere, but the laundry was definitely not for Rusape General Hospital. He went on to say that the opposition is trying by all means to tarnish Government’s image.
