No upward review of Doctors’ remuneration-Government

The Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) has said it is aware of a false document circulating on social media purporting that doctors’ remuneration had been increased.

In a press statement, the Ministry said, “It has come to the attention of the Ministry of Health and Child Care that there is a document circulating on social media purporting an upward review of Doctors’ remuneration package by Government.

“This statement is false and mischievous as government has not received salaries of Doctors and other Health workers in the manner purported in this false document.”

Government said it was not aware of such developments adding that it last reviewed salaries in September this year.

“Government distances itself from this false announcement which should be dismissed with the contempt it deserves.

“The last official review of salaries by government was in September 2019 when all its Health Workers were awarded a 100% increase which still stands,” the Ministry  said.
