New anti-Gvnt pressure group formed

A consortium of MDC Alliance sponsored Civil Society Organisations, has formed a new pressure group titled ‘Poverty Liberation Movement (PLM)’ that will do the hatchet job for the distressed opposition alliance whose legitimacy as a political party was dismissed by Justice Tawanda Chitapi.

The consortium formed the pressure group on 25 May, comprised of Citizen Manifesto (CM), #Tajamuka Sesijikile, Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (ARTUZ), Occupy Zimbabwe Movement (OZM), and Yellow Vest Movement (YVM),

The new pressure group was ostensibly formed to push for the so-called pro-poor and just society in the country.

Analysts, however, viewed the grouping as an appendage of the MDC-Alliance which the opposition outfit wants to use to cause chaos and make the country ungovernable, given their previous individual militant activities.

Analysts also view this creation as the opposition`s tactical way of attracting donor funding as the party`s traditional funders have since abandoned them.

The contact revealed to this publication that on the day of formation, PLM coordinators organised the spraying of graffiti around Harare inscribed ‘VAROMBO VAUYA’ (here comes the poor), in a bid to attract sympathisers and followers.

Coordinators of the new pressure group include CM Programme Coordinator Tatenda Mombeyarara, YVZ Coordinator Ian Hamandishe, #Tajamuka Sesijikile leader Promise Mkwanazi, ARTUZ leader Obert Masaraure and CZM Coordinator Charles Nyoni.

It was also revealed that the Deputy National Chairman of the MDC-Alliance, Job Sikhala was nominated Patron of the pressure group because of his radical stance against Government.

Contact further exposed that the team wants to coordinate violent demonstrations countrywide, taking advantage of the sanctions induced poverty and hunger currently affecting many Zimbabweans.

During this year`s Africa Day celebrations, the pressure group reportedly gave a speech where they called upon people to rise against Government and fight for their liberty.

The team, according to the contact, wants to engage like-minded organisations outside the country to join their cause. On this note political analysts fear that the team might join terrorist groups like the one causing havoc in Mozambique.

“My fear is this so-called pressure group might be tempted to join the France Al Rasak Islamist insurgency group that has caused untold suffering to the people in the Cabo Delgado region of Mozambique.

“As you are aware, this group once invited Chamisa to engage them fight President Emmerson Mnangagwa`s Government and offered him exile in Lebanon. This will not be good for the country,” said political analyst George Maturure.

Meanwhile, the MDC-Alliance continues to plot for more bloody demonstrations in the name of hunger and alleged abductions, after being erroneously galvanised into action by the current on-going protests in the United States of America.
