The Nelson Chamisa led MDC Alliance has approached foreign embassies seeking assistance in having its youths trained in acts of civil unrest.

A top party official who talked to this publication on condition of anonymity revealed that their party sent emissaries to selected foreign embassies seeking youths training in disruptive protests ahead of the 2023 watershed elections. He said that this was necessitated by projections that the ZANU PF government was on path to stabilize the economy and win the 2023 elections.

The top MDC Alliance official bragged that one of the foreign countries, without disclosing its name, had since warmed up to their request. He added that a group of selected youths would be flown to that particular country for training.

“We are very happy with the support we are getting from our foreign friends who are supporting our democratic movement to get rid of the tyrannical ZANU PF regime. Fifty of our youths will receive training abroad and they will do so in batches of ten so that they are intensively equipped to defend our party, “said he official.

A female associate of the MDC Alliance deputy spokesperson, Gift Ostallos Siziba, also revealed that Siziba has been of late frequenting foreign embassies in the company of that party’s Secretary General Chalton Hwende and a group of five youths. She added that Siziba would soon be travelling to the United Kingdom enroute to the Unites States of America, although she was unaware of the business that necessitated Siziba’s movement.

Local political analyst, Sydney Chitema, commented on this development opining that it was not surprising that the MDC Alliance had approached foreign embassies with the view of furthering their regime change agenda. He added that the involvement of foreign states in the internal affairs of the country went against the dictates of sovereignty as espoused by various United Nations charters.
