ZANU PF National Political Commissar, Cde Mike Bimha has urged churches to pray for the nation and to prioritize national interests to ensure the development aspirations of the country come to fruition.

Cde Bimha made the call at the Johanne the 5th of Africa Apostolic Sect national prayer conference in Harare yesterday. He urged the   church to continue praying for and supporting Government's developmental projects.

Cde Bimha said the Government relied on prayers from the churches.

“I’m happy that this church prioritises the welfare of children, the projects you are carrying out on education and women empowerment. The church and government work hand in glove as we rely on your prayers,” he said.

Cde Bimha also urged the church to pray for peace ahead of the 2023 Harmonized General Elections as the country continues to fight the Western regime change agenda.

The church leader, Madzibaba Andby Makururu said that his church was embracing Government Empowerment Projects. He highlighted that they also assist women and youths through funding different projects in order to improve their lives.

Delegates who attended the event were drawn from across the ten provinces and neighbouring countries under the annual program that seeks to fulfil I Timothy 2 verse 1 which urges worshipers to complement and intercede for those in authority.
