Plot not to bury Ali exposed

Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) interim deputy national chairperson, Job Sikhala has been accused of inciting the Ali family not to bury their deceased daughter, Moreblessing until her killers were apprehended.

This follows the gruesome murder of Moreblessing Ali whose lifeless body was discovered in a disused well in Nyatsime, Chitungwiza, last Saturday.

A source who spoke to this publication said that Sikhala was taking the current emotional state of the Ali family to manipulate and incite them not to bury Moreblessing as they want to use her death for political grandstanding.

According to the source, Sikhala approached Moreblessing’s brother, Washington, and urged him not to allow other family members to bury Moreblessing as that would cause the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) not to intensify their search for the killers.

“The family wanted to bury Moreblessing on Tuesday (today) but Sikhala who has since imposed himself as the family lawyer, advised them to delay the burial until the killers were apprehended. Sikhala told the family that Moreblessing’s death has attracted the interest of the West, hence burying her would put an end to such a topical issue,” said the source.

The source added that the whole family was now against Washington whom they accuse of taking instructions from Sikhala instead of the family.

“The Ali family is now up in arms with Washington whom they accuse of being given stipends by Sikhala so that Moreblessing’s burial would be delayed. The family is accusing both Sikhala and Washington of wanting to capitalise on the unfortunate death of Moreblessing,” added the source.

According to the source, the majority of the family members wanted to bury Moreblessing and wait for the Police to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death. The family is said to be complaining that the continued mourning of Moreblessing was financially straining them as they were compelled to continue feeding mourners.

The same source added that contrary to unfounded allegations that Moreblessing’s death was politically motivated, the truth was that she was a victim of a toxic relationship. The source further said that prior to her death, Moreblessing was not known as a CCC member but a woman who loved partying and clubbing.

Meanwhile, the Police are searching for Pius Jamba who is a prime suspect in the murder case of Moreblessing. Jamba is alleged to have had an argument with Moreblessing prior to her death.
