Turk Gold Mine constructs a multi-million dollar solar farm

Staff Reporter

A Toronto Stock Exchange-listed (TSX) and Canadian-based mining company, New Dawn Mining Corporation; has constructed a multi- million dollar solar farm at its Turk and Angelus gold mine, in Bubi district, Matebeleland  North.

Since 2010, New Dawn Mining cooperation has been investing big on Turk Mine, from care and maintenance to active mine development.

In a show of confidence in the Second Republic, the constructed solar farm has a huge capacity enough to service the mine's power requirements as well as its staff quarters.  The solar plant could provide all of Turk mine's power requirements during daylight hours; whilst at night they would make use of a combination of grid and diesel power supplies.

This publication managed to talk to some of the Engineers on site, who confirmed that all the electrical engineering will be complete by mid-year 2023.
