Opposition data analyst group, Team Pachedu has reportedly joined hands with Douglas Mwonzora’s MDC-T following its fallout with Nelson Chamisa over the final Delimitation Report.

A source who spoke to this publication said that Team Pachedu had hoped to work with Chamisa to challenge the final Delimitation Report gazetted by President Mnangagwa last month. However, Chamisa spurned Team Pachedu’s offer citing that the final Delimitation Report was authentic and final save for few anomalies.

"Team Pachedu has partnered with Mwonzora to file a legal challenge against the final Delimitation Report. The final Delimitation Report underwent a critical analysis by Team Pachedu, which detected some discrepancies. They had intended to collaborate with Chamisa to contest the report's findings, but Chamisa declined, claiming that his party concurred with the final report,” said the source.

The insider also stated that Team Pachedu had since branded Chamisa as an autocratic leader who disregarded other people's opinions.

The same source also mentioned Team Pachedu's engagement of Mwonzora, who consented to dispute the gazetted Delimitation Report in court. Both Team Pachedu and Mwonzora concurred to front the court case with Julius Musengezi, a lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe.

According to the source, Mwonzora and Team Pachedu are seeking the nullification of the gazetted Delimitation Report and the postponement of this year’s elections.

The source said that Mwonzora and Team Pachedu group were both thoroughly scrutinizing the Delimitation Report as they don’t want their court challenge to be like that of Chamisa ‘who approaches the courts without sufficient evidence’.

The same source informed that Tendai Biti and Beatrice Mtetwa were getting tired of Chamisa as he ignored their recommendations on the Delimitation Report.

Biti and Mtetwa are said to have separately submitted their recommendations on the Delimitation Report. However, Chamisa allegedly shredded the recommendations before he could even read the papers.

Meanwhile, there are reports that CCC was not adequately prepared for this year’s elections and was contemplating boycotting the same citing uneven playing field.
