The citizens of Zimbabwe have castigated G40 kingpin Saviour Kasukuwere for filing to contest for the Presidency at the nomination court yesterday, indicating that the Zimbabweans are not gullible as they will choose a leader based on their people centered performances over the past 5 years.

One citizen only identified as Tatenda Makoni affirmed that are now enlightened demanding proof of input before voting for anyone.

“Kasukuwere has been living in neighboring South Africa, he is not in touch with the problems that we battle on a daily basis in this country.  We can not vote for a person who has not done anything to improve our lives in the past 5 years, we need to vote for progress from where we are and President Emmerson Mnangagwa is the one who can complete the good work that he started. At least with him we know what we are getting,” said Makoni.

Another citizen who works in the Ministry of National and Social Amenities Thelma Chiutsi stated that, Zimbabweans would vote for president Emmerson Mnangagwa who had shown his commitment of ensuring that noone and no place is left behind in terms of development and also in ensuring that Government constructs housing units for the people.

“As Zimbabweans we only follow a leader who produces tangible results. Look at what President Emmerson Mnangagwa has done to the people ever since he came into office in 2017. The National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1) vision targets to build 220 000 housing units by 2025 as it works toward ensuring that no one and no place is left behind.

“Already, out of a target of 220 000 houses,180 000 houses have been built with projects both from the public and private sector taking shape in every part of the country, in development that leaves no one and no place behind. So as Zimbabweans we are not naive we know where to vote. We are giving President Mnangagwa another term so that he can continue to deliver to the people,” said Chiutsi.

A teacher who teaches at a local school in Harare, Chenai Chisi lambasted Kasukuwere for his corrupt activities including the parceling out of 54 residential stands in Kambuzuma, Harare where the Harare City Council has the sole jurisdiction for the land.

“We have not forgotten Kasukuwere’s malpractices. As Zimbabweans we will not vote for him, our best bet is with President Mnangagwa who continues to champion vision 2030 of an Upper Middle Income Society,” said Chisi.

Meanwhile, political analysts have lambasted Kasukuwere highlighting that, Kasukuwere is his worst enemy in politics as the Zimbabweans would never forget how he fraudulently acquired his wealth at the expense of ordinary Zimbabweans. Kasukuwere built himself a multi-million dollar 38 room mansion in 2015 when the country had a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of US$10 billion during that time 80 percent of Zimbabweans survived on less than US$2 a day.
