We are not led by Ngarivhume: MDC-Alliance youths

The much publicised #31July2020 demonstrations being organised by the leader of the little known Transform Zimbabwe, Jacob Ngarivhume, are likely to suffer a still birth after more and more opposition parties continue to distance themselves from it.

The latest to pour cold water on the #31July2020 demonstrations is the MDC-Alliance Youth Assembly which said Ngarivhume had no authority to plan anything that involve the MDC-Alliance.

A letter circulating on various social media platforms, purportedly written by the MDC-Alliance Youth Assembly Deputy Spokesperson, Womberai Nhende, insinuated that Ngarivhume was an enemy of the MDC-Alliance, who once labelled Nelson Chamisa a dictator.

“The MDC (Alliance) Youth Assembly would like to categorically state that our leader is Advocate Nelson Chamisa and only him alone can give us orders to go for a demonstration that is planned by the party leadership.

“Therefore, it is wrong for Ngarivhume and Promise Mkwananzi (leader of #Tajamuka/Isijikile) to move around claiming that the MDC-Alliance youths are going to join their planned 31 July action,” said Nhende.

Nhende further said Ngarivhume could not claim to speak on behalf of the MDC-Alliance as he has terminated his party membership to the Alliance soon after the 2018 elections.

“Ngarivhume officially left the Alliance in 2018 after labelling our leader Chamisa a dictator. That alone is evidence enough to show that we do not share the same vision with him,” added Nhende.

Nhende also said the MDC-Alliance youths would not be part of a project that has Mkwananzi as its organiser as he has a history of looting funds meant for projects to unseat ZANU PF from power.

According to Nhende, the MDC-Alliance youths had the capacity to plan their own successful demonstrations without being hand-held by Ngarivhume.

Nhende went further to say that the #31July 2020 demonstrations had nothing to do with corruption as being purported by the organisers, but is a project being sponsored by the beleaguered G40 elements to unconstitutionally unseat the Government.

“We can’t be used by ZANU PF renegades like Godfrey Tsenengamu who is now enjoying funds from G40 thugs. We are aware that Tsenengamu is receiving funds from G40 to fight ED (President Emerson Mnangagwa). We don’t want to be involved in that,” said Nhende.

For the past few weeks, Ngarivhume was planning a demonstration against the Government for its purported failure to deal with corruption. However, signs on the grounds clearly show that Ngarivhume might go it alone after more opposition parties have chickened out of the #31July2020 demonstration.

Recently, the MDC T, Labour, Economists and African Democrats (LEAD), Mthwakazi Republic Party (MRP), and ZAPU had all said that they would not participate in the illegal demonstrations.
