Diasporans condemn the planned demo

ZANU PF members living in the diaspora have condemned the 31 July demonstration saying that the organisers are shameful, irresponsible and selfish.

In a press statement released yesterday, ZANU PF in the diaspora said, “We, ZANU PF living in Diaspora declare the planned protests by some opposition parties and some civic organizations dubbed ‘July 31 Mass protests as shameful, irresponsible, selfish, anti-Zimbabwean, misguided and a desperate attempt to subvert and undermine legitimate efforts made by the progressive leader, His Excellency Comrade Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa (ED) and the Government of the Republic of Zimbabwe in combating the scourge on COVID-19 pandemic and championing Vision 2030 which seeks to take Zimbabwe to a middle-income economy.”

The diasporans said people behind the 31 July Mass Protest must respect the current Government under the stewardship of President Mnangagwa, which is on record fighting corruption and making the necessary reforms in conformity with the dictates of the Zimbabwean constitution.

They added that, “The President has opened his doors for dialogue and engagement with all peace loving people inside and outside Zimbabwe. There is ample evidence that the Government is fighting graft, attending to the challenges of shortages, leakages of money, unemployment and welfare of the workers amongst many other efforts to improve the economy and standard of living of Zimbabweans.”

ZANU PF in the diaspora said the protest was an attempt by the opposition parties and civic society organizations to pursue their longstanding regime change agenda by masking it as a fight for corruption. They added that it was an evil attempt to cause unrest and despondency among the citizenry, hence their strongest call for the condemnation of the demonstration.

The party said that the demonstration was going against the efforts of the Government of Zimbabwe of combating the highly infectious Corona Virus that has so far claimed 25 lives in Zimbabwe and infected over a thousand people.

“Notwithstanding, the world is the hardest hit by the current pandemic. As we begin to appreciate the health interventions being made by the Government of the Republic of Zimbabwe in our beloved country, we hear there is a planned mass protest. This is shockingly retrogressive and definitely endangers the lives of medical professionals, law enforcements agents and of cause the general public to the Coronavirus,” said Zimbabweans in the diaspora.

The ZANU PF party urged the detractors of progress, peace and tranquillity to put the health and lives of people first, and respect the legitimate elected Government of the Republic of Zimbabwe.

The 31 July Mass protest is being spearheaded by the leader of Transform Zimbabwe, Jacob Ngarivhume and other Government detractors who have been castigated by Zimbabweans for shenanigans to unseat a duly elected Government.
