Chamisa is a dictator- CCC members

Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) members have described their leader Nelson Chamisa as a rising dictator who is not fit to be at the helm of that party.

Speaking to this publication yesterday, a disgruntled CCC senior member said Chamisa was running that party as his own personal entity as he has declared that he was the only recognised leader of that party, relegating other senior leaders to political uncertainty.

According to the source, Chamisa recently held a meeting in Msasa, Harare, where he declared that CCC has no structures or constitution, hence no one should claim seniority in that party.

“We are going to have a problem with Chamisa. The guy is a rising dictator. He wants to control everything in the party. Can you imagine that he recently announced that no one has a post in CCC as the congress was yet to be held. The irony is that he (Chamisa) claimed to be the leader of CCC, but was not elected by anyone,” said the source.

The source added that Chamisa’s claim that he was the only one with a position in the CCC has irked his lieutenants who were now afraid of being relegated to the peripheries of that party. The senior members, according to the source, were now plotting against Chamisa and they want him dethroned in the next inaugural CCC congress likely to be done later this year.

The source further accused Chamisa of exhibiting some serious dictatorial tendencies as he also recently claimed that he was the only one who coined the name CCC. Chamisa further claimed that he couldn’t share the new name with other senior members as he was afraid that they would leak the name to ZANU PF before the official announcement.

According to the source, Chamisa lied that he kept the new name to himself as there was overwhelming evidence that he deliberated the name, logo and the constitution of CCC with Fadzayi Mahere.

The same source told this publication that Chamisa revealed that he will personally nominate the 2023 CCC candidates and sign the 2023 candidates nomination papers to avoid the issue of double fielding of candidates. However, the revelation has irked some CCC members who said that the move would turn that party into a personal project for Chamisa.

Meanwhile, Chamisa has lashed out at his deputies for causing instability in the new party and he has since threatened to expel or demote anyone who foments chaos within CCC. According to the source, Chamisa has warned that the days of senior members abusing their offices were over as he was going to descend heavily on them.
