Gvt initiates growth strategies for Zimbabwe`s economic growth

Government through the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development is set to hold an International Convention which is set to contribute towards the formulation of innovative growth strategies and policies for the successful achievement of the National Vision 2030.

In its quest to pool ideas from experts around the world for Zimbabwe’s growth strategies, the Ministry sent out an invitation to all interested stakeholders to submit abstracts for their proposed research not later than 30 July 2022.

“The objective of the convention is for stakeholders to engage and deliberate holistically on issues that will impact Zimbabwe’s Growth Strategies so as to make them more innovative and transformative.

“The evidence based policy analyses which will contribute to the formulation of innovative growth strategies and policies that should contribute to the achievement of the National Vision 2030,” read part of the invitation.

The invitation further stated that the Convention will bring together experts from around the world to discuss and analyze Zimbabwe`s growth strategies and to proffer solutions and recommendations in line with various broad pillars. The pillars includes; informal sector development and poverty reduction; industrialization and trade policy; monetary and exchange rate policy and fiscal policy reforms.

The Convention will become an annual event, while the first convention is slated for the 10th to the 12th of August, 2022.   

Meanwhile, the invitation of Researchers, Academia, Development Partners, Corporates, Economic Think Tanks and Representative Organizations dovetails with the country’s mantra “Zimbabwe is Open for Business”.
