Pres Mnangagwa to commission Epworth Magistrate Court

President Emmerson Mnangagwa is set to officially commission a new Epworth Magistrate Courts this Friday 03 March 2023, as the drive by the Second Republic to take justice delivery system closer to people becomes a reality.

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) revealed that it has since acquired suitable land across the country’s high density suburbs, where more Magistrates courts will be constructed.

Describing the amenities found at Epworth Magistrate Court, Legal Analyst Brighton Mudhara said that the completion and readiness of the commissioning of the Epworth court dovetails with the dictates of the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1).

“The Epworth complex comprises of two (2) court rooms, eight (8) offices and ablution facilities.  Additionally, the complex has in its structural designs holding cells in tandem with the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services specifications, with bars fitted and necessary sections for men, women and juveniles,” said Mudhara.

Meanwhile, sources from the JSC revealed that following the completion of the Epworth Court, the JSC would move on to other projects in Bulawayo’s Cowdry Park and Emganwini whilst in Harare negotiations with the Harare City Council were at an advanced stage for Budiriro, Mabvuku and Glen Norah.

The Second Republic’s development is hinged on President Mnangagwa’s mantra of inclusivity under the hash tag #leavingnooneandnoplacebehind.
