A source who spoke to this publication revealed that former MDC-T leaders signed an election alliance pact with the leader of DUZ, Robert Chapman on 19 June 2023, meant to divide the votes for the MDC-T party led by Douglas Mwonzora.

“It is so sad to note that Douglas Mwonzora is having a lot of enemies who want to destroy his party which is already shaking. As we speak the former MDC-T national Chairman, Morgan Komichi and former MDC-T deputy leader, Elias Mudzuri signed an election alliance pact with DUZ leader, Robert Chapman. The alliance will be led by Chapman,” said the source.

According to the source the trio will soon release a press statement after engaging with Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) vice chairperson Tendai Biti.

Political analysts have stated that ZANU PF would win the 2023 harmonized elections resoundingly considering that the opposition parties are having a lot of political fissures resulting in them losing the few supporters they have to ZANU PF.
