CCC losing candidates moot ‘bhora musango’

The Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC)’s chaotic candidate selection process which was characterised by imposition of candidates, continues to divide that party with some disgruntled losing candidates mooting bhora musango, the Harare Post can reveal.

An impeccable contact revealed that Sunningdale Constituency losing candidate, Hammy Madzingira threatened to support and work with ZANU PF aspiring candidate, Loice Magweba. Madzingira lost to Maureen Kademaunga whom Madzingira and his legion of supporters believe is not a resident of Sunningdale. Madzingira has managed to rally his supporters against Kademaunga as her rallies are being shunned.

“Kademaunga was imposed on the people by the president (Nelson Chamisa). Madzingira will meet Magweba tomorrow (yesterday) where he will handover uncompleted community projects that he was implementing using donor funds. I am sure which donors funded these projects but the guy is well connected to a number of financiers.

“That man is a hard working politician who was unfortunately elbowed out in favour of the president’s crony. He was renovating changing rooms at Sunningdale football grounds and they are now at 90% completion. He also initiated the construction of a flea market at Sunningdale 22 Shopping Centre,” said the contact.

Contact said Madzingira was going initiate a ground breaking ceremony at Sunningdale 3 Poly clinic, a move that he said was meant to boost Magweba’s support base.

Contact further revealed that Madzingira was working with CCC Glen Norah Constituency losing candidate, Herbert Gomba in the Bhora Musango project.

An insider who preferred anonymity said that the party’s greatest enemy was candidate imposition.

“These guys felt used by Chamisa. They were very active in the Mugwazo rural mobilisation programme. They used their personal resources to fund the programme. So they expected to be rewarded for their efforts by being selected as candidates,” said the source.

The CCC candidate selection process has resulted in double fielding of candidates a development that will heavily divide the opposition votes. In Victoria Falls, disgruntled CCC losing candidates formed a coalition that is meant to support each other as independent candidates.
