Thousands of Zanu PF supporters congregated at a mobilising rally held at Mkoba 13 in Gweru yesterday, amplifying the Party's assurance of clinching the Mkoba North seat in the Saturday by-elections.

The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm as the Party's National Political Commissar (NPC), Cde Mike Bimha, expressed unwavering confidence in the Zanu PF candidate, Cde Edgar 'Giant' Ncube, outlining the Party's accomplishments and rallying the people to cast their votes in favour of the ruling Party.

Cde Bimha addressed the crowd, emphasising Zanu PF's readiness for triumph and attributing their anticipated success to tangible projects happening nationwide.

"Zanu PF is poised for victory because of the tangible projects that are happening across the country,” declared Cde Bimha, igniting the crowd with anticipation.

The NPC urged the attendees to rally behind Cde Ncube, highlighting the significance of unity in thwarting opposition efforts.

“Your job is not yet finished because we want you to vote for the Mkoba North Constituency candidate on February 3. There is a challenge if we fight each other. We must be a united Party. We don’t want to hear of bhora musango. Yes, we had primary elections and we had winners, and now it’s time to put that behind us. Yes, we want Edgar Ncube, but remember, he is carrying the Zanu PF name, and that’s the most important thing," emphasised Cde Bimha, underscoring the importance of party cohesion.

Cde Bimha further implored Party members to focus on building a robust and united party, cautioning against individual pursuits and personal gains.

Addressing rumours of activities related to DCC elections, he stated, “We hear that some other people are working on DCC elections, but we don’t even know when we will have the elections. So, stop that. We agreed as the Central Committee to stop the DCC elections now because we want to reorganise our cells,” said Cde Bimha.

As the by-elections draw near, Zanu PF's confidence stands juxtaposed against Democratic Official Party (DOP) candidate, Patrick Tayiya's who is also canvassing for support in the same constituency.

The stage is now set for a political showdown, with both parties vying for the trust and allegiance of their constituents.
