Air Zim offers to uplift donations from Matebeleland to Harare.

Air Zimbabwe has joined the nation in mobilizing relief resources towards victims of Cyclone Idai, Air Zimbabwe Management has said.

In a press statement, the Airliner said it was mobilizing resources for the families and communities which were affected by Cyclone Idai.

“Air Zimbabwe joins the nation of Zimbabwe in the mobilization of relief resources towards the families and communities which were affected by the devastating effects of Cyclone Idai, which resulted in the loss of life, infrastructure, homes and sources of livelihoods,” said the Airliner.

Air Zimbabwe also said it had unveiled an aircraft to facilitate the transportation of donations made towards the victims of Cyclone Idai from Bulawayo and Victoria Falls.

“As part of our role of promoting national interests and to expedite the transportation of relief aid, the national airline wishes to inform all corporate, churches, aid organizations and the general public that we have availed our aircraft to facilitate the uplift of donations made towards the assistance of victims of the cyclone. The donations will be uplifted from Bulawayo and Victoria Falls Airports to Harare for onward transportation to the affected areas. The carriage of all donations towards victims of Cyclone Idai shall be free of charge but subject to air carriage regulations. Goods to be carried include but not limited to, dry food stuffs, clothes, blankets and sanitary utilities,” said Air Zimbabwe.

Air Zimbabwe has called for the nation to come together and lend a helping hand to the many families and communities who have been affected by Cyclone Idai.

Those willing to donate can drop off their donations at any Econet shop in Bulawayo and Victoria Falls and at the Bulawayo City Hall for onward transmission to Harare.
