Zimbabwe engaging West over sanctions

Government of Zimbabwe is in the process of engaging the West over the removal of sanctions, a cabinet Minister has said.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Subusiso Busi Moyo said this whilst addressing Invest Africa in London recently, revealed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade on its Twitter handle.

“Asked about Government’s position towards the removal of ZIDERA, Minister S B Moyo told Invest Africa that Zimbabwe was engaging the United Kingdom in reengaging the United States over and above other efforts,” said the Ministry.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also said there was a possibility that Zimbabwe would be readmitted as a member of the Commonwealth.

“The Minister’s delegation had a closed door meeting with Commonwealth Secretary General Honorable Patricia Scotland. They discussed the situation in Zimbabwe, the Commonwealth, and possibility of Zimbabwe’s readmission,” said the Ministry.

Speaking on the issue of the stability in the Agriculture sector and its suitability for investment, the Minister of Foreign Affairs told different Investor meetings that Government stopped land invasions resultantly stabilizing the Sector.

Government is compensating former commercial farmers, accepting joint ventures, Triple Ps, and is about to introduce 99-year bankable leases, Harare Post has learnt.
