CCC Silobela councillor in hot soup

Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) Silobela Ward 29 councillor, Willard Moyo is in hot soup with that party’s leadership after he urged people in his ward to vote for a ZANU PF MP, Mthokozisi Manoki-Mpofu in the forthcoming elections.

A source who spoke to this publication said that Moyo, who is also a Zibagwe Rural District Council (RDC) councillor, told attendees at Donsa Primary School prize giving day in Silobela last week that despite Mpofu being a ZANU PF Member of Parliament (MP), they should vote for him next year because he was best suited for the job.

“Moyo is in hot soup with his party leadership after he urged people in his ward to vote for a ZANU PF MP in the forthcoming elections. Moyo said that people should vote for Mpofu because he was not always in electoral mode but have time for development issues,” said the source.

The source added that Moyo praised Mpofu for his ability to disengage from the political gear and engage in development gear with other people from different political backgrounds. The source said that Moyo complained that the people in his ward were tired of people who wanted to be MPs just to divide people on political grounds.

According to the source, Moyo took a swipe at former Silobela legislators, Abednigo Malinga and Anadi Silulu who never came back to the people after clinching tickets to the august house.

However, the source said that the CCC leadership was angered by Moyo’s praise of a ZANU PF legislator and he was likely to be brought before a displinary committee to be reprimanded.

According to the source, some CCC leaders in Silobela have already petitioned CCC interim organising secretary, Amos Chibaya that Moyo should be recalled as councillor as he was now getting into bed with ZANU PF members.

Efforts to get a comment from Moyo were futile as he was not picking up calls.
