Vice President, Dr Constantino Chiwenga has advised that the Government would revamp all old  suburbs in the country such as Matapi flats in Mbare, Benjamin Burombo flats in Bulawayo and Sakubva in Mutare.

Addressing a gathering at Mbare Stodart Hall today, VP Chiwenga said that the Government had planned to revamp Mbare flats but the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) councillors refused highlighting that they would lose their voters to ZANU PF.

“The Government wanted to revamp the Matapi flats, but to my surprise the CCC councillors who are in charge of these urban councils denied us to do so because they feared that they would lose their votes to ZANU PF.

“We are going to craft policies that will not hinder anyone from doing developmental projects which benefit the people. No one can stop those who want to do developmental projects,” said VP Chiwenga.

VP Chiwenga further informed the gathering that Zimbabwe was now performing heart surgery at Parirenyatwa Group of hospitals. He assumed that so far, two people had gone through the heart surgery including an orphan who had no money to pay for her heart surgery abroad.

The Vice President further informed that Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals was now performing the hip surgery, a challenge that is mainly faced by the elderly as they get older. He urged Zimbabweans to be patient with the Government of President Emmerson Mnangagwa  which is delivering a number of people-centred projects which are leaving no one and no place behind.

Meanwhile, VP Chiwenga lambasted the CCC for poor service delivery in all the urban areas and encouraged the people to vote for ZANU PF a party that has people’s concerns at heart. He further urged the people to be united and peaceful as the country approaches the 2023 harmonized presidential election.
