Hwende lashes out at Mahere, Siziba

Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) interim secretary general, Charlton Hwende has lashed out at that party’s information department led by spokesperson, Fadzayi Mahere and Gift ‘Ostallos Siziba, describing the duo as political novices who are not worthy to hold those portfolios.

A source who spoke to this publication said that Hwende was fuming at a recent caucus meeting held at CCC party offices in Malbereign where he accused Mahere and Siziba of prematurely issuing conflicting statements to the media without consulting with other senior members.

“Hwende castigated Mahere and Siziba for jumping the gun by issuing disparaging media statements against the loans extended to legislators by Government. Hwende was fuming that the information department was being manned by novices and that its high time mature and responsible members were given the opportunity to lead that department,” said the source.

Hwende reminded Mahere and Siziba to stick to their party position when addressing the media and desist from adding personal opinions   He added that CCC should not go to elections with a confused information department that always issue conflicting statements.

That party’s Harare North legislator, Allan Norman Markham is said to have concurred with Hwende by adding that CCC should emulate ZANU PF by appointing seasoned politicians such as Christopher Mutsvangwa to superintend over its information department.

Furthermore, the source revealed that Hwende had no kind words for political activists and CCC sympathisers, Hopewell Chin’ono and Pedzisayi Ruhanya, whom he advised to join politics if they so wish instead of continuously tweeting and writing statements that bring confusion within that party.

Efforts to get a comment from Mahere and Siziba were futile as they didn’t respond to messages send to them through WhatsApp.
