Government Sympathises with the public

Minister of Defence and War Veterans Affairs, Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri has affirmed that the Government really sympathises with the suffering citizens following the illegal sanctions imposed on the country by the West.

While addressing thousands of citizens gathered at the National Sports Stadium today at a Government organised and SADC backed anti-sanctions march, Minister Muchinguri said that the government recognised the rise in the cost of living to which it is sympathising with the citizens and will work extra efforts to curb this.

“The general public are no longer affording basic commodities, neither are they affording to commute to work every day due to rising transport fares. The sanctions imposed on us by the West are negatively affecting the day to day running of the country and crippled our economy leading to public suffering.

“As Government, we are working in our efforts to address and solve these challenges, and l urge Zimbabweans to remain united,” said Minister Muchinguri.

Minister Muchinguri went on to castigate the opposition fraternity who were calling their members to sabotage the historical event and calling for the extension of sanctions on Zimbabwe.

She articulated that the suffering in the country was largely due to the sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe because it crippled the economy and called upon the opposition to fight from one front with the Government in calling for the removal of sanctions.
